The Mario Brothers' primary attack is simply jumping on top of ("Stomping") their enemies, which kills the mushroom traitors (which in Japan are actually chestnuts and not mushrooms), known as Goombas, and sends the turtle soldiers known as Koopa Troopas into their shells.
